One night on safari we came across a male lion that was lounging as the sun was starting to set. Our guide suggested that we wait there abit and see if he was going to do anything, as lions typically get moving around dusk. On this particular safari I decided to sit in the far back of the vehicle while everyone else was more up front. Well the lion didn't do anything but at one point I got a funny feeling and decided to turn around. Right behind us was this huge male elephant staring at us. Half in the bushes and half out, he had walked up right behind us without making a sound. I quickly composed the shot with the setting sun only illuminating half of his face. After a brief standoff between us he turned and walked back silently into the bush. How does something so big make no noise?
