The weather was brutal the day I shot this church, even for Iceland. The wind and the rain were relentless. So much so, I really didn't want to get out of the vehicle when we arrived. But I did, as I walked around the grounds looking for a good angle to be able to capture this church the rain suddenly stopped, which took me completely by surprise. Then without warning a little crack in the clouds appeared, the sun peaked through and the wind stopped blowing. I took the shot. Immediately the crack closed up, sun disappeared and the wind cranked back up to hurricane levels. This is why I choose to call this image "Church of the Gods" - kinda felt like there may have been one involved.
